Rantanen (concussion) is out on Tuesday but is progressing and feeling better.

Rantanen took part in a skate before Colorado's practice Monday but has been announced Tuesday vs. Minnesota as he will be his second-straight game due to a concussion. Avalanche fans can breathe as the 27-year-old is expected back sooner rather than later as he will be likely taking part in the morning skate Tuesday regardless of his in-game distinction. His 102 points in 77 games in 2023-24 marks his second straight 100+ point campaign.

Rantanen was placed in COVID-19 protocol but is expected to be back on December 31st.

Rantanen was placed in COVID-19 protocol on December 21st but the team did not announce it until Sunday. The Avalanche provided expected return dates for all of the players still in protocol and put Rantanen on track to miss Wednesday's game vs. the Stars but be back for Friday's rematch.

Rantanen (undisclosed) is questionable to play Thursday in St. Louis.

Rantanen was banged up in Colorado's morning skate and head coach Jared Bednar was not sure of his status for tonight's game in St. Louis. Consider him a game-time decision and monitor his status when the Avalanche hit the ice for warmups at 7:30 PM ET.

Rantanen (COVID-19) will return to the Avalanche lineup on Friday.

Rantanen has missed the last four games while in the COVID-19 protocol but will play Friday vs. the Sharks. The Avalanche top line had some struggles without Rantanen, so his return will provide a massive boost to a team that has lost three in a row.

Rantanen (COVID-19) is expected to miss the next three games.

The Avalanche return to action on Thursday but Rantanen did not travel to St. Louis to start the trip. Head coach Jared Bednar said that he could play next Wednesday in Vegas, so it looks like he'll miss all three games in St. Louis. In addition to Rantanen, the Avalanche will be without Joonas Donskoi and Philipp Grubauer due to COVID-19 protocols.

Rantanen (ankle) will play Wednesday in Toronto.

Rantanen returned to the lineup on Saturday but missed the third period. Rantanen had one goal and three assists before leaving and holding him out of the third period was likely more precautionary since the Avalanche were up massive. Rantanen was also held out of Monday's practice but was on the ice for the morning skate and will play in Toronto.

Rantanen (lower-body) will return to the lineup on Saturday.

Rantanen, who has been out since October 21st, will miss Wednesday's game but will return to Colorado's lineup in Chicago on Saturday. Rantanen is expected to jump right back onto the right-side of Nathan Mackinnon and will try to build off of a hot-start that saw him register 12 points (5G / 7A) in his first nine games.

Rantanen is doubtful to play Wednesday but could play later this week.

Rantanen joined his teammates for practice on Monday and head coach Jared Bednar left open the possibility of him playing by this weekend. Rantanen will likely miss his 15th consecutive game on Wednesday but monitor his status ahead of their Friday/Saturday home-and-home with the Blackhawks.
