Gridin has been a regular for the Flames in recent weeks, but he will play at least one game with the Wranglers, ensuring he is an option for them in the AHL playoffs. The 20-year-old Gridin has seven points (3G / 4A) in 18 games with the Flames this season.
Gridin has been assigned to the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) in a move to help accommodate activating Jonathan Huberdeau (undisclosed) off of Injured Reserve. The 19-year-old Gridin made his NHL debut last week and has recorded one goal in four games with the Flames this season.
Gridin will take a seat on Wednesday as the Flames opt to get some fresh legs into the lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Justin Kirkland will draw into the lineup in his place.
