Matt Grzelcyk News

Grzelcyk (shoulder) could play next week.

Grzelcyk continues to make progress and was upgraded to "day-to-day" on Friday. The Bruins anticipate that Grzelcyk could play as soon as the end of next week. Grzelcyk will likely take over for Hampus Lindholm on PP1 while Charlie McAvoy is still sidelined, making him a decent waiver wire addition for teams in need of blueline help.

Grzelcyk (shoulder) is expected to be sidelined until early-to-mid November.

Grzelcyk had a procedure on his right shoulder in early June and had an expected recovery time of five months. Expect Hampus Lindholm to quarterback the Bruins' No.1 PP unit while Grzelcyk and Charlie McAvoy are sidelined to open the season.

Grzelcyk (upper-body) will return to the Bruins lineup on Thursday.

Grzelcyk missed Tuesday's game vs. the Blues but is expected to replace Brandon Carlo (undisclosed) in the lineup on Thursday. Grzelcyk has scored four goals with 18 assists in 65 games this season but has just two points (1G / 1A) in his last 12 games.

Grzelcyk left Sunday's game with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Grzelcyk played just 3:11 TOI in Washington on Sunday before suffering an upper-body injury. The Bruins have plenty of depth on the blueline, so they'll be able to survive without Grzelcyk in the short term but they will be hoping this isn't a long-term injury.

Grzelcyk (rest) will not play on Tuesday.

Grzelcyk is one of 16 regulars who will not be in the Bruins lineup on Tuesday. The Bruins will need to recall multiple players from their taxi squad/AHL to fill out their lineup. Jakub Zboril, who was a healthy scratch last night, should draw in to replace Grzelcyk.
