With Nicolas Hague (undisclosed) unlikely to play on Monday, the Predators have recalled Oesterle from Milwaukee (AHL). The 33-year-old Oesterle has spent the entire season in the AHL, but is no stranger to the NHL, with 96 points (23G / 73A) in 408 career games.

Oesterle will rejoin the Predators lineup after sitting out Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs. Andreas Englund will sit in his place.

Oesterle will be the odd-man out on the Predators blue-line when they host the Blues on Tuesday. Spencer Stastney will play in his place.

Oesterle began the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL but was thrust into a role with Boston this season due to injuries on their blueline. The 32-year-old defenseman averaged 17:36 time-on-ice and scored six points (1G / 5A) in 22 games with Boston this season.

With Charlie McAvoy returning from an undisclosed injury, Oesterle will be sidelined as a healthy scratch. The 32-year-old Oesterle is averaging 17:34 time-on-ice and has five points (0G / 5A) in 21 games this season.

Oesterle will take a seat on Thursday as the Bruins look to get some fresh legs into the lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Michael Callahan will draw into the lineup in his place.

Oesterle has spent the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign in Providence (AHL) but could make his Boston Bruins debut after being recalled on Wednesday, possibly an indication that Hampus Lindholm (lower body) will not be ready to play. The 32-year-old Oesterle has 371 games of NHL experience, recording 86 points (19G / 67A).

Oesterle will join his sixth NHL franchise in 11 years after signing a two-year, two-way contract with Boston on Monday. The 32-year-old appeared in 22 games for Calgary in 2023-24, but failed to score while picking up two assists, four PIMs and a -6 plus/minus.

Oesterle made his first appearance in the Flames lineup in nearly two months earlier this week, playing 14:07 time-on-ice and recording two hits. Oesterle has no goals and two assists in 22 games this season.
