Jonathan Quick News

Quick will make the final start on his NHL career in Florida on Monday.

Quick announced on Monday that he will retire at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, with Monday's start against the Florida Panthers being the final one of his illustrious career. The 40-year-old veteran goalie has been the victim of poor play from the Rangers this season, but he has played better in recent outings. He has less than a minute away from recording his 66th career shutout in his previous game, saving 31 of 32 shots (.969 SV%) in a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. The Rangers enter Monday's contest as -156 road favourites against a Panthers team coming off a 6-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Quick will start vs. Detroit on Saturday.

Quick has not played since suffering an upper-body injury over two weeks ago, but he will return to the crease on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. The 40-year-old veteran goalie has had a wildly inconsistent season, with lots of downs, as indicated by his ugly 5-16-2 record. Before his injury, Quick had strung together a serviceable run, posting a 3.05 GAA and .912 SV% in his last four games (1-3-0).

Quick will start against the Devils on Wednesday.

The Rangers are well above .500 when Igor Shesterkin starts (22-13-6) and would likely be in playoff contention if not for a prolonged injury, but they will turn to Quick on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. Despite Quick's struggles, he was excellent in his most recent outing, saving all 21 shots he faced in a 4-0 shutout victory over the Calgary Flames last week, only his second win in his last 18 games (2-14-2). The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +104 home underdogs against a Devils team that is 6-2-0 in their last eight games.

The Rangers are well above .500 when Igor Shesterkin starts (20-12-6) and would likely be in playoff contention if not for a prolonged injury, but, on the tail end of a back-to-back, they will turn to Jonathan Quick. The 40-year-old veteran Quick is sporting a miserable 4-15-2 record. He allowed five goals on 34 shots (.853 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils, and has lost 16 of his last 17 appearances (1-14-2) while posting an ugly 3.69 GAA and .874 SV%. Still, the Rangers enter Tuesday's contest as -131 home favourites against a Calgary Flames team that was defeated 7-3 by the Washington Capitals last night.

Quick will start against the Hurricanes on Thursday.

Quick allowed five goals on 33 shots (.848 SV%) in his previous outing, a 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. High-scoring losses have become a regularity of late for Quick and the struggling Rangers. The 40-year-old veteran goalie has just one win in his last 10 games (1-8-1) while posting an abysmal 4.67 GAA and .825 SV%. The Rangers enter Thursday's contest as +180 home underdogs against a Carolina Hurricanes team with points in nine straight games (7-0-2).

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start against the Islanders on Thursday.

Igor Shesterkin remains unavailable due to a lower-body injury, so the Rangers will be sticking with Quick between the pipes for Thursday's game against the Islanders. Quick has struggled in Shesterkin's absence, but he did manage to secure a victory in his last start. The 19-year-veteran made 21 saves on 24 shots in a 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins on Monday. Quick brings a 4-11-2 record and an .884 SV% into Thursday night's matchup, where the Rangers enter action at +115 on the money line.

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start vs. Boston on Monday.

The Kings have struggled immensely since Igor Shesterkin (lower body) was injured, going 1-7-1, failing to receive adequate goaltending from Quick. The 40-year-old veteran Quick was having a solid start to the season in a backup role, posting a 2.14 GAA and .924 SV% in 10 games (3-6-1), but has a miserable 4.32 GAA and .800 SV% in six games since (0-5-1). The Rangers enter Monday's contest as +104 home underdogs against a Boston Bruins team that pummeled them 10-2 earlier this month.

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Quick has had a tale of two seasons, playing tremendously in limited action as Igor Shesterkin's backup, posting a 2.14 GAA and .924 SV% in 10 games (3-6-1). But an injury to Shesterkin thrust Quick into the starting role earlier this month, posting an ugly 4.43 GAA and .786 SV% in five games (0-4-1). The 39-year-old veteran Quick hopes to rebound on Tuesday when he visits his former team, the Los Angeles Kings, with whom he spent his first 16 NHL seasons.

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start vs. Ottawa on Wednesday.

With Igor Shesterkin (lower body) still sidelined, Quick will start for a fourth game in a row. Before taking over as New York's de facto starting goalie, Quick was showcasing marvelous numbers, posting a 2.14 GAA and .924 SV% in 10 games (3-6-1). Since Shesterkin's injury, Quick is boasting an ugly 4.01 GAA and .814 SV% in four outings (0-3-1). The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +103 home underdogs against an Ottawa Senators team that defeated the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 yesterday, snapping a four-game losing streak (0-4-0).

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start vs. Seattle on Monday.

With Igor Shesterkin (lower body) still sidelined, Quick will return to the crease on Monday after a miserable performance over the weekend, allowing six goals on 20 shots (.700 SV%) in an eventual 10-2 loss to the Boston Bruins. The 39-year-old Quick has struggled since taking over for Shesterkin, posting an ugly 4.34 GAA and .776 SV% in three games (0-2-1). Before Shesterkin's injury, Quick was sporting an excellent 2.15 GAA and .924 SV% in 10 games (3-6-1). The Rangers enter Monday's contest as -132 home favorites against a Seattle Kraken team that has scored just two goals in its last two games (0-1-1).

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start against the Sabres on Thursday.

Igor Shesterkin was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, so Quick will begin his era as the Rangers' interim starter when they travel to Buffalo on Thursday. Quick himself will be looking to snap a seven-game winless streak that spans over two months, with his last victory coming way back on November 7th, though that's largely due to a lack of goal support. The 40-year-old's record sits at 3-6-2 on the season despite posting a .919 SV% and 2.23 GAA across 11 appearances. Quick and the Rangers enter action on Thursday at +105 on the money line.

Jonathan Quick
Quick will start in Washington on Wednesday.

The Rangers will turn to Quick on the tail end of a back-to-back on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals. Quick has been excellent in a supporting role but has been punished by the Rangers' lack of scoring, posting a losing 3-5-1 record despite an elite 1.79 GAA and .937 SV% in nine games.
