Aspirot has not played since suffering an upper-body injury on December 11th and has retroactively been placed on Injured Reserve. The 26-year-old defenseman, in his first NHL season, has one goal in 19 games.

With Charlie McAvoy (personal) expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Aspirot will head to the press box as a healthy scratch. Six games into his NHL career, the 26-year-old Aspirot is averaging 15:07 time-on-ice and remains in search of his first career point.

The Flames signed Jonathan Aspirot to a one-year, two-way contract. Aspirot spent 2024 with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL), posting 33 points (6G / 27A) in 66 games. The 25-year-old undrafted defenseman will likely start 2025 with the Wranglers.

Aspirot was an undraafted free agent out of the QMJHL, who spent the 2019-20 season with the Senators AHL affiliate. The 20-year-old winger scored two goals with 14 assists (16 points) in 44 games with Belleville and will likely start the 2020-21 season with them again.
