Evans is out indefinitely with a concussion he suffered in Game 1.

Evans was banged up in Game 1 vs. the Maple Leafs and will not play in Game 2 on Saturday. Jesperi Kotkaniemi will draw into the lineup to replace him.

With the Canadiens shipping Nick Cousins to the Golden Knights on Monday, Evans is back in the NHL after a brief return to the AHL. The 23-year-old has one goal in six games with the Canadiens but has really been strong in the AHL, leading Laval with 38 points (14G / 24A) in 51 games.

Evans was a seventh-round pick in 2014 and has scored 12 goals with 22 assists (34 points) in 48 AHL games this season. With Ryan Poehling and Jordan Weal both sick, the 23-year-old will make his NHL debut on the third line with Max Domi and Ilya Kovalchuk.
