The Canadiens will run into the Coyotes who are coming off their first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Monday.
Allen and his wife are expecting a baby, so he will sit out of Monday's game vs. the Penguins. With Allen unavailable, Cayden Primeau was recalled from Laval (AHL) to serve as Sam Montembeault's backup.
Allen will get his second start of the 2022-23 season as Montreal heads to Detroit Friday.
