With the NHL rosters frozen for the Olympic break, Jack Finley will not have to report to St. Louis until after February 17th after the 23-year-old was claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Saturday. The rookie forward was drafted by Tampa in the 2nd round of the 2020 NHL Draft (57th overall) and had two goals, three points and 21 PIMs in a limited role (8:25 TOI/GP) with Tampa this season.

Finley will slot back into the lineup on Tuesday after sitting out the Sunday's outdoor game against the Bruins. Finley has two goals and one assist in 20 games this season.

Finley did not play in Tampa Bay's previous game because of an illness, but should return to the lineup on Monday against the Utah Mammoth. The 23-year-old forward has three points (2G / 1A) in 18 games this season.


Dominic James will re-enter Anaheim's lineup on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks, resulting in Finley being a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old Finley is averaging 8:57 time-on-ice and has three points (2G / 1A) in 13 games this season.



Finley did not play in Tampa Bay's most recent game and has been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL). The 23-year-old Finley has two points (1G / 1A) in 11 games this season.

Finley will draw out of Tampa Bay's lineup on Tuesday as they opt to get some fresh legs into their lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Scott Sabourin will play in his place


Pontus Holmberg (undisclosed) returns to Tampa Bay's lineup on Wednesday, resulting in Finley being a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old Finley has played a career-high nine games this season and has two points (1G / 1A).
