Garnet Hathaway News

Hathaway has nine goals, seven assists, 70 SOG, 52 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 59 games this season but will be a healthy scratch Thursday as Washington plans on moving him before the March 3rd trade deadline. Both Hathaway and Dimitry Orlov will be held out of Washington's lineup for trade purposes.

Hathaway joins Trevor van Riemsdyk and Nic Dowd on the COVID-19 protocol list and will not be available for Monday's game vs. the Ducks. With Hathaway out, either Daniel Sprong or Michael Sgarbossa will draw into the lineup.

Jaromir Jagr was unavailable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs so Hathaway’s recall suggests that Jagr won’t be available on Thursday. The heavy winger (6-foot-2 / 208 lbs.) has registered 11 goals and eight assists (19 points) in 18 games with Stockton this season.

Hathaway was a healthy scratch for the last two games and with the Flames acquiring Michael Stone on Monday, they needed to create room for him on the roster. Hathaway returns to the Heat, where he has three goals and three assists (six points) in eight games this season.

Hathaway, 24, is a big-boy (6’2” / 210 lbs.) who plays a physical brand of hockey. Hathaway has six points (3G / 3A) in eight games with Stockton this season and three assists in 14 career NHL games.
