Karlsson confirms he will play tonight.

He was expected to miss 4-6 months when he had his Achilles tendon 70% severed in February. It is almost unbelievable but Karlsson will in fact be in the Senators lineup tonight. He will be paired with Marc Methot. If you picked him up in a daily league, you're probably pretty happy right now. Get him in your lineup!

Karlsson is practicing again this morning. He looks like he is ready to return to the Senators lineup soon, which is nothing short of miraculous. If he is available in your league, pick him up. We'll have to wait and see if he will be in the lineup tonight when the Sens take on the Penguins. Monitor his status later in the day.

The healing of Erik Karlsson’s severed Achilles tendon is going well but there is no timeline for his return to action, his agent, Craig Oster, said Wednesday morning. In an email message, Oster said care will be taken to make sure Karlsson is “fully healthy” before he returns.

Karlsson was injured in a Feb. 13 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins when his left Achilles was cut by Matt Cooke’s left skate. He had surgery to repair the tendon the next day. He has been skating for 30-40 minutes daily at the Bell Sensplex, fueling speculation he may return this season.

Erik Karlsson is on the ice again today at Bell Sensplex.

Karlsson skated yesterday for the firs time since getting his achilles sliced. He is still likely to miss the rest of the regular season, but you never know. This is an incredible recovery and he should at least be back for a Senators playoff run. If you have an empty roster spot, why not stash him and hope he returns in time for you to be in the Fantasy Finals.

The Norris Trophy winner last season as the NHL's top defenceman, Karlsson was cut by Penguins forward Matt Cooke's skate blade as the two tangled along the boards. The Senators said Karlsson will need surgery.

Star defenceman Erik Karlsson went down with a left Achilles injury when he was cut by a skate blade late in the second period in the Senators' 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. An achilles injury is really serious and Karlsson is going to miss the rest of the year.
