Hunt signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flames in the offseason and will make his Calgary debut Tuesday as he replaces A.J. Greer in the lineup vs. the New York Rangers. The 27-year-old is entering his seventh NHL season with his sixth different team and has 15 goals and 43 points in 202 career games played. He is expected to draw into the Flames' fourth line for his debut.

The 2023 season was a whirlwind for Hunt. He started the season with the Rangers, was claimed off of waivers by the Avalanche, traded to the Maple Leafs and then traded to the Flames. He finished the season with three goals in 37 NHL games and 24 points (9G / 15A) in 32 AHL games between the four franchises. He'll once again be a fringe NHLer for the Flames in 2024.

Hunt will join his fourth team of the season. The Maple Leafs acquired Hunt from the Avalanche on December 19 in exchange for Denis Malgin. He started the season with the Rangers and played three games for them before being claimed off waivers by Colorado. In total, Hunt has three goals and zero assists in 37 games this season.

Hunt was waived earlier in the week by the New York Rangers after scoring a goal and two shots in his first three games prior to the transaction. Colorado will be Hunt's fourth team in six years, collecting 13 goals and 41 points across 168 career games played.

Hunt was a healthy scratch for the season opener, but he will replace Vitaly Kravtsov (upper-body), who is not on the road trip. Hunt had six goals and 11 assists (17 points) in 76 games a season ago.

Hunt will miss at least one week after being moved to IR on Friday. With Hunt and Julien Gauthier (COVID-19 protocol) out, the Rangers have recalled Jonny Brodzinski and Tim Gettinger from the taxi squad.

Hunt missed Friday's practice due to an upper-body injury and is questionable to play Saturday in Anaheim. If Hunt is not available vs. the Ducks, the Rangers will likely need to call someone up from their taxi squad to replace him.

Hunt, who will be making his season debut, will replace Lawson Crouse, who is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. Hunt has 15 points (3G / 12A) in 63 career NHL games.

Hunt appeared in all 20 games this season, picking up just four assists and 32 shots while playing 10:47 ATOI. He goes back to Springfield, where he dominated last season, posting 44 points (23G / 21A) in 51 games.

Hunt split his 2019 season between the NHL and AHL, posting 44 points (23G / 21A) in 51 games with Springfield (AHL) and 10 points (3G / 7A) in 31 games with Florida (NHL). Despite moderate NHL success, Hunt will likely start 2020 in the AHL.

Hunt was an NHL hopeful but he will start the year in the AHL, where he accumulated 46 points (23G / 23A) in 58 games a season ago.

Hunt was a healthy scratch against the Islanders on Monday, but will replace Connor Brickley in the lineup tonight. Hunt draws back in with just one assist and a minus-4 rating in nine games this season.
