Devon Toews News

Toews missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury but will play Tuesday vs. the Blues. Expect him to replace either Erik or Jack Johnson.

Toews is dealing with a minor undisclosed injury and will not play Monday vs. the Capitals. The Avalanche said Toews' injury is expected to be short-term and he would play if it were the playoffs. Kurtis MacDermid will replace Toews in the lineup.

Toews had shoulder surgery in the offseason and has resumed skating but is expected to miss at least a few games to open the 2021-22 season. With Toews out, Jack Johnson was brought into training camp on a PTO and could earn a contract with the Avalanche.

Toews was hurt late in Thursday's win over the Sharks after blocking a shot with his foot. Toews did not travel to Minnesota, so he'll miss at least two games but could be out longer. Conor Timmins will replace Toews on Saturday.

Toews has registered five goals and 14 assists (19 points) in 24 games with Bridgeport this season. Over the last three years, Toews has 18 goals and 68 assists (86 points) in 130 games. He comes up with Thomas Hickey on IR and could make his NHL debut on Thursday.
