Lazar is recovering from mono and on Monday he was cleared for contact. The Senators believe the fastest way for him to get ready to play in the NHL is to go back to Binghamton. With Lazar going back, Tom Pyatt and Phil Varone will fill in on the third line.
There is no word whether or not Lazar is battling an injury or if he is a healthy scratch. Lazar will be replaced by Phil Varone.
Lazar will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury, but it is not believed to be a serious injury. Lazar is considered day-to-day.
Lazar was knocked out of Wednesday’s game after a hit from Capitals’ forward Tom Wilson. Lazar was reportedly feeling much better this afternoon, so monitor his status leading up to Friday’s game.
Lazar has missed the last three games with a concussion, but he is ready to play on Tuesday vs. the Canadiens. With Lazar out, look for Matt Puempel to come out of the lineup. Lazar has one goal and one assist in eight games.
Lazar was injured on Saturday and head coach Dave Cameron said that his injury is “more long term than short term.” Lazar has one a nice start to the season, but it looks like he will miss at least a couple of games with the upper-body injury.
Lazar left the game after a hit by Coyotes’ defenseman Zbynek Michalek and he did not come back from the dressing room. Lazar had been bumped up to the top line for Saturday’s game but he only played 4:54 TOI before retiring to the dressing room.
Lazar missed Saturday’s game in San Jose with an illness, but will be back in for Colin Greening tonight in Minnesota. Lazar has just one goal in his last 10 games.
Lazar was not on the ice for the Senators morning skate and will be held out of tonight’s game because he is “under the weather.” He will be replaced by Matt Puempel in the lineup.
Lazar will play in his first game since returning from the World Juniors. It will be his first NHL games since December 17th. He has one goal and six assists in 27 games this season.
Lazar, who was on a loan with Team Canada, dominated the World Juniors, posting five goals and four assists (9 points) in seven games en route to a Gold Medal. He returns to the Sens where he has one goal and six assists in 27 games.
Lazar, 19, has recorded one goal and six assists in 27 games with the Senators this season. Lazar represented Team Canada last year as well—he recorded three goals and four assists in seven games in the tournament.
Lazar left the morning skate early and is out with a minor injury according to Paul MacLean. Colin Greening will get back into the lineup with Lazar sidelined.
Lazar played in his ninth game last night vs. the Red Wings. If he plays anymore it will burn the first year of his entry level deal, but the Senators have been impressed with his play, so he will stick with the team and play in number-10 tomorrow vs. the Wild. He has three assists and is averaging 13:03 TOI so far this year.
