Murphy has been out since February 7th with a hip injury but was activated from IR on Monday. Head coach Jeremy Colliton would not commit to him playing on Tuesday, so monitor his status during the morning skate, but all signs are pointing towards him suiting up in Columbus.

Murphy was a bit of a surprise scratch on Tuesday but Chicago announced that he'll miss at least 10 days with a hip injury. This is a huge loss for Chicago, who had Lucas Carlsson replace him in the top-4 a couple of nights ago.


Murphy suffered a groin injury in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Golden Knights and his move to LTIR provides the Blackhawks with some cap relief but also means he'll miss at least 11 games. Dennis Gilbert was recalled from Rockford (AHL) and either he or Slater Koekkoek will replace Murphy. This also helps explain the trade for Ian McCoshen on Tuesday as the team looked to address organizational depth on the back-end.

Murphy missed the Blackhawks season opener but will draw into the lineup on Thursday. Murphy, who had 13 points (5G / 8A) in 52 games last year, will skate on the third pair with Slater Koekkoek.

Murphy has landed on IR to begin the 2019-20 season but is not expected to be sidelined long-term. Slater Koekkoek will open the year as the Blackhawks No.6 defensemen while Murphy is out.


Murphy has missed the first 30 games of the season with a back injury but is set to make his season debut after being activated from IR. Murphy could play against the Habs on Sunday but doesn’t carry a lot of fantasy value. The 25-year-old had just 14 points (2G / 12A) in 76 games last year.



Murphy was healthy scratched in Montreal on Tuesday to allow Cody Franson to get into the lineup, but look for the two to swap spots again tonight. Murphy, who was acquired for Niklas Hjalmarsson this offseason, has no points on three shots with seven hits in three games this season.



Murphy missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but will replace Michael Stone in the lineup this afternoon. Murphy has four assists in 26 games this season.

Murphy, 23, scored six goals with 11 assists (17 points) in 78 games in 2015-16. In his first two NHL seasons Murphy has scored a combined 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) in 151 games. He will be a key member of the Coyotes’ blueline in 2016-17.

Murphy missed Tuesday’s game in St. Louis, but will be back in tonight vs. the Sharks. Murphy has no points in his last eight games and has just six points (3G / 3A) in 49 games this season.

Murphy has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury that he suffered on December 1st. He will be paired with Andrew Campbell who was recalled from Portland on Friday. Murphy has four points (2G / 2A) in 25 games this season.

Murphy will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury that he suffered on Monday vs. the Oilers. He is listed as day-to-day.

Murphy skated in 21 games, recording eight points (1G / 7A), pretty good numbers for a 20-year-old rookie defenseman. The Coyotes recalled Jordan Szwarz to provide some depth at forward, David Schlemko is expected to replace Murphy in the lineup.
