The Rangers are 1-2-2 in their last five games behind Henrik Lundqvist, so Talbot will get a chance to pick up his first win of the season tonight vs. the Flyers. Philly ranks third in the NHL in scoring, but are a .500 team, making Talbot a decent spot-start option in a quiet night in the NHL.

The Rangers have a back-to-back set coming up this weekend, so it looks like they will go with Talbot on Saturday in Toronto and then Henrik Lundqvist at home vs. the Oilers on Sunday. The previous days practice is not as good of an indication as the game day skate, but we will revisit this on Saturday.

This early in the season you likely are not looking for a spot-start, but if you are, Talbot would not be a bad one.
