Talbot allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Oilers 4-3 loss in Minnesota on Tuesday. Talbot has started the season 2-5-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .909 SV% in his first seven starts with the Oilers. It will be tough for him to earn a win tonight with the Canadiens in town.

Talbot surrendered three goals on 34 shots in the Oilers 3-2 loss to the Kings on Sunday. Talbot has played very well as an Oiler, posting a 2.35 GAA and .917 SV%, but the offence is only averaging 2.33 goals per game right now, so Talbot has just two wins in six starts. Tonight he faces the Wild in Minnesota—Talbot is 1-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .925 SV% on the road.

Talbot allowed one goal on nine shots after replacing Anders Nilsson in the Oilers’ loss to the Capitals on Friday. Talbot has posted a 2.22 GAA and .918 SV% in five starts and one relief appearance this season. The poor performance from Nilsson opens the door for Talbot to stake his claim as the unquestioned No. 1 in Edmonton.

The Red Wings are currently tied for ninth in the NHL with 3.00 goals per game. Talbot enters with a 2.54 GAA and .908 SV% in four starts.

Talbot allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Oilers loss to the Blues on Thursday. Talbot has lost all three of his starts so far this season while posting a 2.73 GAA and .906 SV%. The Oilers are 27th in the NHL in scoring, so Edmonton will need to find some scoring before Talbot starts picking up wins.

After spending two years as Henrik Lundqvist’s backup, Talbot gets a chance to be a starter in Edmonton. He was 33-15-5 with a 2.00 GAA and .931 SV% in 53 starts in New York, so he has starter potential, but the Oilers are no where near as good as the Rangers. Talbot posted a 3.13 GAA and .892 SV% in four preseason games.

Talbot allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Rangers loss to the Capitals on March 29th. Henrik Lundqvist has started the last four games, but Talbot will start tonight in New Jersey. Talbot has won three of five while posting a 2.58 GAA and .917 SV%. Tonight he will face a Devils team who have lost seven of eight.

Talbot allowed one goal on 24 shots in the Rangers win in Ottawa on Thursday. He was given yesterday off, but he will be in goal today vs. the Capitals. Talbot has won three of his last four while posting a 2.23 GAA and .929 SV%. This afternoon he will make his 15th start at Madison Square Garden—Talbot has gone 9-2-3 with a 1.81 GAA and .939 SV% in his first 14 starts at home.

Talbot allowed four goals on 35 shots in the Rangers loss to the Kings on Tuesday. Talbot sits 7-2-1 with a 1.49 GAA and .953 SV% in his last 10 starts. Talbot is red-hot but he will need to be at his best tonight as the Rangers take on an equally hot Andrew Hammond and the Senators.

Talbot allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Rangers win over the Hurricanes on Friday. He has gone 6-1-1 with a 1.11 GAA and .963 SV% in eight starts in March. Tonight will be his 13th start at home—he is 8-1-3 with a 1.62 GAA and .943 SV% at Madison Square Garden this season.

Tonight he takes on the Panthers at Madison Square Garden—Talbot has not lost in regulation at home, going 7-0-3 with a 1.73 GAA and .936 SV% this season.
