Panarin left Tuesday's preseason game vs. the New York Islanders with a lower-body injury but will only be out day-to-day as he attempts to return in time for the Rangers' season opener on October 9th. The Rangers are hoping their star left-winger will be able to give them 82 games played for a third straight season after finishing third in the NHL in points in 2023-24 with 49 goals and 120 points in 82 games played.

Panarin played 19:55 time-on-ice in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars but was unavailable for practice on Wednesday. The 32-year-old Panarin has seven points (1G / 6A) in his last three games. He already has tied a career-high in goals this season (32) and is pacing for his first 100-point season.

Panarin will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury but the Rangers are hopeful that he will be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Panarin left Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury and will not play on Wednesday. Some other regulars will also sit out on Wednesday, so it's unclear if Panarin's injury is serious or if this is a precaution.

Panarin missed the last four games while in COVID-19 protocol but was back at practice on Sunday and is expected to play Monday vs. the Kings. The Rangers managed to go 3-1-0 without Panarin but his return will obviously be a very welcomed addition to the top-6 and PP1. Panarin didn't play much in the third period or overtime during Wednesday's loss to the Bruins and is questionable to play in the rematch on Friday. Head coach David Quinn didn't sound overly concerned about the injury, calling it "a little bit of a lower-body injury," so it seems like there's a decent chance he suits up on Friday.
