Utah has signed Anders Lee to a three-year contract worth $5.4 million AAV ($16.2M total).

Lee was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire career with the club, serving as their captain in recent seasons. The 35-year-old will get a change of scenery for the first time in his career, joining the Utah Mammoth on a three-year deal. He scored 42 points (19G / 23A) last season in 82 games.

Lee is out for 1 to 2 weeks with an upper-body injury.

Lee is expected to miss the majority of training camp with an upper-body injury, but is still likely to be ready for the start of the Islanders' Regular season on October 9th vs. Pittsburgh. The Islanders' 35-year-old captain will be expected to play a large role in New York's offence yet again this season, after putting. up 29 goals, 54 points and 233 SOG in 82 games played.

Lee has been excellent for the Islanders lately but is battling an illness and was considered a game-time decision on Thursday against the Washington Capitals. The 34-year-old Lee has 24 points (13G / 11A) in 30 games this season, including scoring 11 (6G / 5A) in his last nine.

Lee has been excellent for the Islanders lately but is battling an illness and could miss his first game of the season on Thursday against the Washington Capitals. The 34-year-old Lee has 24 points (13G / 11A) in 30 games this season, including scoring 11 (6G / 5A) in his last nine.

Lee (personal) is expected to be back in the Islanders lineup on Monday.

Lee did not play Saturday afternoon vs. the Blues due to a personal matter but was back on the ice for Monday's morning skate and is expected to play vs. Colorado. Lee, who has just one goal and no assists in his last eight games, will skate on the third line with Zach Parise and Oliver Wahlstrom.

Lee has been placed on the COVID-19 protocol list.

Moving to the protocol list on Friday makes Lee questionable for the Islanders' back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. Lee joins Josh Bailey and Ross Johnston, so look for the Islanders to make some call-ups if they're all unavailable for the weekend.

Lee (lower-body) will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the 2021 season.

Lee suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Devils last Thursday and the Islanders announced on Wednesday that he will undergo surgery later this week and miss the rest of the season. Since Lee got hurt Kieffer Bellows on the top line but it's unclear if that is the long-term solution. The Islanders added that Lee will be ready for the 2022 season.

Lee left Thursday's game after playing just 3:35 TOI and did not return. On Friday, the Islanders announced that he's out indefinitely and that there will be no further update provided at this time. It's an ominous update and makes it seem like he's going to miss an extended period of time.

Lee was forced to leave Saturday’s game in Detroit following a huge hit by Niklas Kronwall. Lee ended up returning to the game but it’s good to know that there were no lingering effects post-game. Lee will be in the lineup vs. the Penguins and has five goals and two assists in his last eight games.

Lee was held out of Tuesday’s game vs. Columbus, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Canadiens. Lee will take his spot next to John Tavares back and comes into play with 17 goals, which is second on the team behind only Tavares.
