Who could the Jets look to sell at the Trade Deadline

From winning the President’s Trophy last season to floundering at the bottom of the NHL standings in 2025-26, the Winnipeg Jets have endured one of the quickest downfalls in league history.
Yet, while they don’t have much hope of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, the approaching Olympic roster freeze and March’s NHL Trade Deadline offer them options to sell and recoup assets for the future, along with a likely high-rated prospect from the 2026 NHL Draft
On Thursday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, hosts Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton were joined by Michael Remis from Winnipeg Sports Talk to break down who the Jets could look to trade away this season.
Tyler Yaremchuk: If they decide to sell at the deadline, there’s not a lot of pending UFAs on this team who are going to carry a ton of value. Is there anyone on this roster with a term who you think maybe they aren’t married to long term that shovel day off will try to get some value for?
Michael Remis: That’s a great question, and why I think the Jets are in such a tough spot. They don’t have the top-end prospects pushing right now, and you look at the UFAs… A couple of years ago, they traded away Andrew Copp and got a big haul from the New York Rangers, which included Morgan Barron, who’s on the roster right now.
The big UFAs you’re seeing on trade boards, Luke Schenn and Logan Stanley, and I do wonder if you could get a higher pick for Stanley, who’s really emerged this year with his physical play, and he’s added goal scoring on the third pair.
If there’s a player with term like, do they look to move on from veterans like Nino Niederreiter, Vladislav Namestnikov... those guys to have such low value now because the production hasn’t been there. I don’t know if you could get anything.
They just signed Alex Iafallo to a contract at the end of last season. Is that a guy they would move on? Or Cole Perfetti, we thought it was going to be a breakout year for him; he’s an RFA after this season. Is that a struggling young player they move for another struggling young player?
I think it is really tough to say at this point, because everyone is having a down season. Everyone is performing below expectations. You’d be selling low, and I don’t know if that’s great, but maybe some of those veteran guys, you can see if someone takes them to remove the salary and give you more flexibility, but I think they’re in a tough spot when it comes to what they’re going at the Trade Deadline.
