Goldeneyes’ Jenn Gardiner sets PWHL record with four-goal game

An incredible achievement was reached for the first time in the PWHL.
In a game against the Seattle Torrent on Saturday, Vancouver Goldeneyes forward Jenn Gardiner became the first player in league history to score four goals in a single game.

It came in a game that the Goldeneyes had to win in regulation in order to stay alive in the race of the 2026 Walter Cup Playoffs. The Torrent jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Gardiner scored to cut into the lead late in the second period. Vancouver stayed on the attack early in the third. After Hannah Miller tied the game, Gardiner potted her second to tie the game at two.
Seattle responded with three unanswered goals to seemingly put the game out of reach, but Gardiner’s third of the game sparked a comeback late in the game, forcing overtime. The Vancouver native capped the day off with the game-winning goal in extra time, giving the Goldeneyes a wild 6-5 win.
However, the historic afternoon was bittersweet, as Vancouver was eliminated from postseason contention after securing only two of the necessary three points.
Lost in the record-breaking performance, Gardiner became the first player in the history of the Goldeneyes to even score a hat trick. Her three-goal day was the 18th in PWHL history and the fourth this season. The former Ohio State star shot up to a tie with Vancouver defender Sophie Jaques for the team lead in goals with eight.
The four-goal outing gives Gardiner five goals this month. Her goal against the Minnesota Frost on April 4 was her first since the Olympic break, as the 24-year-old hadn’t scored in the previous nine games before that.
After Saturday, Gardiner has scored eight goals and eight assists for 16 points, tied for second on the team in scoring with Miller and Claire Thompson.
