Mammoth sign Michael Hrabal to entry-level contract

A talented collegiate goaltender is set to join the pro ranks.
On Wednesday, the Utah Mammoth announced that the team has signed goaltender Michael Hrabal to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal is set to begin this season, with Hrabal set to join the Mammoth’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, for the remainder of the 2025-26 season on a professional tryout agreement.
We have signed goaltender Michael Hrabal to a three-year entry level contract. ✍️ Hrabal will report to the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL).
Hrabal signs his first NHL contract after finishing his college career on a solid high note. At the University of Massachusetts, he led the team to the second-best record in Hockey East. In playing 29 of the team’s 38 games, he posted a record of 19-9-1, delivered a 1.95 goals-against average, a .937 save percentage, and four shutouts. The Prague, Czechia native sits third in the country in SV%, fifth in GAA and tied for sixth in shutouts.
Hrabal’s efforts earned him Hockey East’s Goaltender and Player of the Year honors, while he was also named a finalist for the Mike Richter Award alongside New York Islanders prospect Josh Kotai (Augustana) and Detroit Red Wings prospect Trey Augustine (Michigan State). However, his game didn’t help the Minutemen achieve postseason success. The team was knocked out by eventual HEA champion Merrimack in the semifinals, with UMass missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three years.
Across three seasons in Amherst, Hrabal registered a record of 54-33-7, a 2.31 GAA, a .925 SV% and eight shutouts.
Along with his college resume, the 21-year-old has also represented his country a couple of times on the international stage. He played for Czechia at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship, as well as the 2024 and 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships. He was a key part in Czechia knocking Canada out in the quarterfinals each tournament, with the Czechs going on to win the bronze medal.
Hrabal was drafted by Utah, when the franchise was known as the Arizona Coyotes, in the second round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
