The team also announced it had released forward Clair DeGeorge. That move follows a report on Tuesday from Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News that the team had worked out a deal with the New York Sirens that would allow DeGeorge to spend the rest of the season with the new team.
Della Rovere, 25, has spent the season on the Sceptres’ reserve player list. In 2024-25, she played with the EV Bozen Eagles in both of Italy’s and Europe’s women’s hockey leagues. In 23 total games, she had 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points.
The Caledon East, Ont., native played nine games with the Ottawa Charge in 2023-24, scoring once before suffering a season-ending injury.
In five seasons with Harvard University, Della Rovere recorded 56 goals and 66 assists for 122 points in 127 career NCAA games. She served as captain in her fifth season.
Della Rovere also represented Italy at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, where she scored two goals and two assists in four games.
As for DeGeorge, she played in 17 games for the Sceptres this season. In three PWHL seasons, she’s recorded three assits in 66 games with Toronto, the Montreal Victoire and Minnesota Frost. She helped the Frost earn the league’s inaugural Walter Cup championship.
The Sceptres are 8-1-5-8 with 31 points through 22 games, which puts them fourth in the league standings. They defeated the Boston Fleet 2-0 on Tuesday, and now have a nine-day break before facing the Fleet against March 27.
