The Toronto Sceptres announced Friday that defender Allie Munroe has been placed on long-term injured reserve.

The team also announced they have signed defender Hanna Baskin to a standard player agreement.

The news comes less than a week after the team said Munroe, along with defender Renata Fast, were day-to-day with lower-body injuries. The team signed Baskin to a 10-day contract on Dec. 27.

Munroe was injured during the Sceptres’ Dec. 23 contest against the Ottawa Charge after just 4:10 of ice time.

Through seven games this season, the 28-year-old blueliner recorded two assists while averaging 16:40 of ice time. Now in her third PWHL campaign, Munroe, a 2023 ninth-round pick, has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 60 career regular-season games.

She’s also played in nine Walter Cup Playoff games, recording a goal and assist.

Before joining the PWHL, Munroe spent two seasons with the Connecticut Whale, where in 42 games she recorded four goals and 25 assists for 29 points. She also spent parts of two seasons in Sweden with Djurgardens IF, where she posted six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 68 regular-season games.

In college, Munroe spent four seasons with Syracuse University, where she scored 20 goals and 51 assists for 71 points in 137 games. She is Syracuse’s all-time goal leader for defenders.

As for Baskin, the 22-year-old blueliner was taken by the Sceptres in the sixth round of the 2025 PWHL Draft. She spent last season as an assistant captain for the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she recorded one goal and 21 assists for 22 points. In four NCAA seasons, she had seven goals and 48 assists for 55 points.

The Sceptres are 4-0-2-3 with 14 points, fourth in league standings. Toronto will face the Seattle Torrent on Saturday at TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ont., as part of the PWHL Takeover Tour.
