— St. Louis Blues (@StLouisBlues) January 15, 2026Thomas, 26, missed St. Louis’ 3-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday after sustaining the injury during last Saturday’s 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Aurora, Ontario native has 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in 42 games played this season. While those numbers may seem unspectacular, Thomas leads the Blues in scoring by nine points. St. Louis’ 2.49 goals per game ranks dead last in the NHL, and scoring will be even harder to come by without their biggest offensive threat in the lineup.
Selected 20th overall by the Blues in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Thomas is now in his eighth full season with the team. In his rookie season of 2018-19, he was a member of St. Louis’ Stanley Cup championship squad. By his fourth year, he established himself as a high-end playmaker, putting up 20 goals and 57 assists for 77 points in 72 games during the 2021-22 season. Thomas’ best season to date came in 2023-24, when he notched 26 goals and 60 assists for 86 points in all 82 games, while being named to his one and only All-Star Game. Last year, he had another strong campaign with 21 goals and 60 assists for 81 points in just 70 games played.
Thomas is in the third season of an eight-year, $65 million deal with the Blues. His contract contains a no-trade clause that will kick in next season and run through the end of the deal.
St. Louis will host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday before beginning a three-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.
