Blues’ Dylan Holloway to miss six weeks with right ankle injury

The St. Louis Blues will be without forward Dylan Holloway for at least the next six weeks as he recovers from an injury to his right ankle, the club announced Monday morning.
Holloway, 24, has eight goals and 17 points in 33 games with the Blues this season. According to the Blues, Holloway sustained the injury during a team practice on Sunday and will be re-evaluated in six weeks; he is now on their injured reserve list.
In a corresponding move on Monday, the Blues activated forward Alexey Toropchenko off IR. The 26-year-old winger has been inactive since sustaining burns to his legs in an accident at his home in late November.

— St. Louis Blues (@StLouisBlues) December 15, 2025The Blues have been ravaged by injuries to start the 2025-26 season. In addition to Holloway and Toropchenko, the club has also gone without the likes of Jimmy Snuggerud, Jake Neighbours, Jordan Kyrou, and Nathan Walker for significant periods of time.
A first-round pick (No. 14 overall) of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2020 NHL Draft, Holloway spent his developmental years with the AJHL’s Okotoks Oilers and at the University of Wisconsin before turning pro with the Edmonton organization for the 2021-22 season.
The Calgary product played primarily in a depth role over parts of three seasons with the NHL’s Oilers, most notably skating in 25 playoff games with the club (collecting five goals and seven points) during their run to the 2024 Stanley Cup Final.
With the Oilers low on salary cap space in the 2024 off-season, the Blues took advantage and signed both Holloway and Dylan Broberg to two-year offer sheets. The Oilers elected not to match either offer, allowing both young players to join the Blues; they received second- and third-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft as compensation.
Holloway enjoyed a breakout season with the Blues in 2024-25, collecting 26 goals and 63 points in 77 games while playing almost exclusively in a top-six role. He is slated to become a restricted free agent in the 2026 off-season and will likely command a substantial raise over his current $2.29 million cap hit.
Through 199 career NHL games over parts of five seasons with the Oilers and Blues, Holloway has collected 43 goals and 98 points. The 6’1″ winger has added seven points in 26 career playoff contests.
