Another big name is set to return to the ice.

On Sunday, the Seattle Torrent announced that the team has activated captain Hilary Knight from long-term injured reserve. In response, the team has placed forward Brooke Bryant back on its reserve list.

Knight will be in the lineup on Sunday afternoon against the Ottawa Charge, her first PWHL game since Jan. 28.

The 36-year-old has been out of action since the Winter Olympics, where she suffered a torn MCL. Knight played through it for the latter half of the tournament, not only performing on the world stage at a high level but also setting the U.S. record for goals and points in a women’s Olympic hockey career, surpassing Jenny Potter with 15 goals and 33 points.

It was the Sun Valley, Idaho native’s final Olympics, with Knight going out on top, as she helped Team USA beat Canada to win gold, the team’s first since 2018 and third all-time.

With the Torrent, Knight has been a solid producer on a team that has struggled to generate offense. In 14 games, she has posted three goals and seven assists for 10 points, sitting tied for fifth on the team in scoring, despite missing the past eight games.

With Knight and Hannah Bilka out of the lineup, Seattle has struggled, going 2-6-0 since the Olympic break, tying the PWHL record for most regulation losses in a single season. While the Torrent aren’t officially eliminated from postseason contention, they are well on their way to being the first team to start accumulating Gold Plan points.

Bryant has been on the Torrent’s main roster all season. She was invited to training camp after winning back-to-back Walter Cups with the Minnesota Frost. In 22 games with Seattle, the California native has just one assist.

The Torrent (6-1-2-13) sit last in the league, nine points back of the fourth and final playoff spot.
