Kraken sign forward Curtis Douglas to two-year deal

The Seattle Kraken announced Wednesday they signed forward Curtis Douglas to a two-year, $2.5-million contract with a cap hit of $1.25 million.
“Curtis adds size and a strong physical presence to our forward group,” said general manager Jason Botterill in a press release. “He competes with an edge, brings energy and is difficult to play against. We look forward to seeing him in our lineup next year.”

Douglas, who stands 6-foot-9 and weighs 243 lbs., had a goal and three assists for four points and 108 penalty minutes in 43 games with the Vancouver Canucks and Tampa Bay Lightning last season.
The 26-year-old scored his first-career NHL goal in April after the Canucks claimed him off waivers from the Lightning.
Taken by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Douglas, a native of Oakville, Ont., has spent parts of six seasons in the American Hockey League. He’s scored 37 goals and added 61 assists for 98 points and 508 penalty minutes in 267 career games with the Belleville Senators, Toronto Marlies, Tucson Roadrunners and Syracuse Crunch.
Douglas spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, where he scored 83 goals and added 85 assists for 168 points and 217 penalty minutes in 247 regular-season games with the Barrie Colts and Windsor Spitfires.
