The San Jose Sharks will be without Adam Gaudette as 2025 comes to an end, as the winger is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will miss Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Wild as a result.

The cause of Gaudette’s injury is not known, but he left early in the third period of Monday’s 5-4 win over the Anaheim Ducks and did not return. It was revealed to be a lower-body injury later in the night, but his timeline was not confirmed until today. He’ll miss Wednesday’s game, and with the Sharks not playing again until Saturday, it’s possible he may return by then considering the day-to-day nature of his injury.

Gaudette has had a good season thus far in the Sharks’ bottom six with eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 33 games, and is trending towards his career-best performance of 33 points in 2019-20.

As a result of the injury, winger Pavol Regenda has been recalled from the San Jose Barracuda, as the Sharks had no other healthy forwards on their roster to replace Gaudette. Regenda has two goals in two games with the Sharks, as well as four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 28 games with the Barracuda.

In addition to Gaudette’s injury, Shakir Mukhamadullin is questionable for Wednesday’s game after sustaining a lower-body injury on Monday, although he didn’t leave the game. He was absent from Tuesday’s practice, with the injury confirmed afterward. He has two goals and four assists for six points in 21 games this season.

The Sharks had several other injury updates after Tuesday’s practice. Macklin Celebrini missed practice for maintenance after leaving part of Monday’s game. Ty Dellandrea is also banged up and missed practice, although his absence was considered maintenance. Timothy Liljegren, who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, isn’t available for Wednesday’s game, while Vincent Desharnais is still week-to-week. Meanwhile, Will Smith and Philipp Kurashev were skating on Tuesday, but are still a ways away from returning.

The Sharks currently sit in fifth in the Pacific Division with a 19-17-3 record, which is good enough for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference. They’ll look to build off of back-to-back wins when they host the Wild on Wednesday at 1 p.m. PST.
