Flyers’ Bobby Brink, Jamie Drysdale leaves game, Ducks’ Ross Johnston ejected for interference

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on social media that forward Bobby Brink left Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks with an upper-body injury after taking a hit from Ducks’ forward Jansen Harkins.

The hit occurred just minutes into the game as Brink skated into the Ducks’ zone with the puck, with Harkins delivering a hit that sent Brink to the ice. Flyers’ forward Noah Cates dropped the gloves and fought Harkins in retaliation.

Going into Tuesday night, Brink had 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points in 40 games this season. Now in his fourth NHL season, the 24-year-old winger has 34 goals and 54 assists for 88 points in 186 career regular-season games.

Later in the game, Ducks’ forward Ross Johnston was ejected after delivering a hit on Flyers’ defenseman Jamie Drysdale.

The incident occurred early in the second period with the puck in the Ducks’ zone, with Johnston coming on the ice and hitting Drysdale nowhere near the puck. Johnston was given a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct.

The Ducks’ winger finished the night with 15 penalty minutes and 3:36 of ice time.

Going into Tuesday night, Johnston had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points and 67 penalty minutes in 40 regular-season games. Now in his 10th NHL season, the 6-foot-5 forward has 13 goals and 31 assists for 44 points in 285 career regular-season games with the Ducks and New York Islanders.

As for Drysdale, he was later confirmed to not be returning to the game. He has one shot in 5:56 of ice time.

The 23-year-old Flyers’ defender has three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 40 game this season. Now in his sixth NHL campaign, Drysdale, a Toronto native, has 20 goals and 68 assists for 88 points in 257 career regular-season games with the Ducks and Flyers.
