Pekka Rinne out at least four weeks with a hip infection

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne will be out for a minimum of four weeks because of an infection.

According to Predators General Manager Dave Poile, Rinne has a spontaneous bacterial infection in his surgically repaired hip. Rinne under went surgery this offseason that forced him to be limited in the preseason, and this complication is going to hurt Nashville in the near future.

Rinne was off to a good start to the season posting 4-4-1 record with a 2.31 GAA and .917 SV%. In his absence, Carter Huttonwill start Thursday night while Magnus Hellberg was recalled from Milwaukee (AHL) this morning. Between the two, they have just three games of NHL experience.

Poile said the Predators are currently not looking to make a trade to bring in a goalie from another team. Nashville plans to use both Hutton and Hellberg on a game-to-game basis, basically it sounds like they will ride the hot-hand.
