A couple of minor-leaguers are staying in Ontario for at least another year.

On Friday, Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios announced that the team has signed defensemen Djibril Toure and Samuel Bolduc to one-year, two-way contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Bolduc was a pending Group 6 unrestricted free agent after his one-year, $775,000 contract came to an end. His new deal has an NHL cap hit of $850,000 and a minor-league salary of $425,000.

The 25-year-old started this past season with the Ontario Reign, the Los Angeles Kings’ top farm team, but was traded to the Senators for Jan Jenik in March. He spent the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign with the Belleville Senators, Ottawa’s primary affiliate. In 67 games, he scored six goals and 25 assists for 31 points.

The Laval, Que. native has some considerable NHL experience, playing parts of three seasons with the New York Islanders. In 54 games in the, including two in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Bolduc has scored four goals and eight points. In 279 AHL appearances, he has registered 34 goals and 123 points.

Bolduc was originally taken by the Islanders in the second round, 57th overall, of the 2019 draft.

Toure was a pending restricted free agent after completing his three-year, entry-level contract, with an NHL AAV of $805,000, and a minor-league salary of $70,000 over the past two years. The 23-year-old’s new contract has an NHL cap hit of $850,000, with an American Hockey League salary of $80,000.

Toure has split the past two seasons between Belleville and the ECHL. He posted six points in 36 games during the 2024-25 season, with another eight points in 24 games with the Orlando Solar Bears. This past year, he registered four points in 38 games with the Baby Sens, totaling 119 penalty minutes as well, along with appearing in five games with the Allen Americans.

In 74 regular-season games in the AHL, the Quebec native has scored three goals and seven assists for 10 points. He’s also notched eight points in 29 ECHL regular-season contests, with another six points in 19 Kelly Cup Playoff contests.
