Some lineup updates for the Ottawa Senators heading into Game 2 of their series against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

After the Senators’ morning skate, it was reported that defenseman Artem Zub is going to be a game-time decision, while fellow blueliner Tyler Kleven will remain out of the action for the ninth game in a row.

Zub suffered a lower-body injury early in the second period of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

The play that knocked the 30-year-old out of the contest came just a few minutes into the second period on Saturday afternoon. Zub went to pinch in from the right point as the Hurricanes were looking to break out of their own zone, delivering a huge hit on Carolina forward Seth Jarvis.

However, it seems that Zub got the worst of the hit, as he was seen walking down the tunnel into the Ottawa dressing room not long after the check.

Zub was credited with 7:44 of ice time across 11 shifts in the game, posting three hits. When he exited the game, the Senators were trailing the Hurricanes, 1-0. Ottawa ended up losing the contest, 2-0.

Kleven was absent from Game 1 of the series thanks to an upper-body injury that caused him to miss the last seven games of the regular season. In 70 games this year, the 24-year-old scored three goals and 15 assists for 18 points. He posted two assists in the Sens’ playoff series last spring against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Zub entered the playoffs after having the best regular-season performance of his NHL career. In 81 games, he posted five goals, along with career highs in assists (25), points (30) and plus/minus (+22). He averaged 20:48 of ice time per game as well. Zub was an important piece in helping Ottawa bounce back after a sluggish start to the 2025-26 campaign, clinching the last Wild Card spot in the East and earning a playoff berth for the second season in a row, the first time since 2013.

Puck drop in Raleigh is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
