A talented collegiate scorer is heading to the pro ranks.

On Wednesday, the New York Islanders announced that the team has signed forward Cole Eiserman to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal is set to kick in next season, as Eiserman is poised to join the Islanders’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders, for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

Eiserman is the second signing of the day for the Isles, as the team also signed defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson to a three-year, entry-level contract as well.

The Islanders took Eiserman in the first round, 20th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft. It came after an incredible season with the U.S. National Team Development Program, in which he scored 83 goals and 123 points in 81 games across all competitions.

From there, Eiserman took his game to Boston University. He played a sizeable part in the Terriers’ run to the NCAA Championship game last season, scoring 25 goals and 11 assists for 36 points in 39 contests. Yet BU fell to Western Michigan in the title game. While the Terriers struggled this season, ultimately losing to the Connecticut Huskies in the Hockey East Quarterfinals this past weekend, Eiserman managed to score 18 goals and 10 assists for 28 points.

In 71 career games in Boston, the 19-year-old has scored 43 goals and 21 assists for 64 points.

Eiserman is the third Terrier to sign his ELC in the NHL over the past couple of days. Cole Hutson (Washington Capitals) and Sacha Boisvert (Chicago Blackhawks) have also signed this week, though those two will be joining their NHL clubs.

In addition to his college career, Eiserman has had a presence on the international stage. With Team USA, he has won gold medals at the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship and the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The Newburyport, Mass. native has an electric release on the rush and the vision that allows him to create chances for his teammates. Over his tenure at BU, he has filled out, making him a more physical player than he was heading into his draft year.

Birdgeport (24-27-3-5) is tied for sixth in the AHL’s Atlantic Division, the last playoff spot in the division.
