A couple of players might be heading back out of the Garden State.

On Friday, the New Jersey Devils placed forward Juho Lammikko and defenseman Colton White on waivers, making them available to the other 31 teams in the NHL.

If Lammikko and/or White clear the wire on Saturday, they would become eligible to be assigned to the Devils’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Utica Comets.

Both players have seen a considerable amount of time in the NHL this season. Lammikko has appeared in 22 games thus far, but has just two assists to this name. Both of those helpers came back on Dec. 13 against the Anaheim Ducks. He has a plus/minus of -4 while averaging a little over 10 minutes of ice time per game.

Lammikko was last seen in game action on Jan. 6 against the rival New York Islanders. He missed almost the entire month of November while on the injured list, as he was nursing a lower-body injury.

Lammikko returned to North America after spending the past three seasons with the ZSC Lions in the National League in Switzerland. He signed a one-year contract with a cap hit of $800,000. In 181 NHL games, the 29-year-old has scored 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points.

White started the 2025-26 campaign in Utica, as he was placed on waivers right before the regular season got underway. He was called up to New Jersey in early November and has been with the Devils ever since. In 23 games, the 28-year-old notched four assists, with his last point coming on Dec. 21 against the Buffalo Sabres. He, too, last saw game action on Jan. 6 on Long Island.

In eight games with the Comets, the London, Ont. native didn’t register a point.

White is in the second season of his two-year contract, which carries a cap hit of $775,000. In 107 NHL appearances, he has posted 14 assists.
