One of the hottest teams right now in the NHL is singing a different tune compared to most of the league.

The Nashville Predators have had an incredible run as of late, going from being a floundering team at the bottom of the Western Conference to being a playoff contender over the past couple of months. After a big overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, the Predators have won four games in a row, and have points in seven of their previous 10 contests.

With that, Nashville has worked its way into the second Wild Card spot in the West, with many trying to figure out what it will take to slow the team down.

On Monday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton discuss what has made the Predators a freight train.

Carter Hutton: We’re at a point where the sun is shining, the weather’s coming, playoff hockey’s around the turn. I don’t think anyone would have thought that we would have seen the Nashville Predators in this situation. The way their season had started, and the question marks around Barry Trotz, around these veterans that they brought in, do they have enough gas left in the tank? For me, the performance by Filip Forsberg yesterday was unbelievable. The effort on the overtime winner alone, how he just manhandles the Chicago defenseman behind the net, and he makes a play out front. He was electric all game long. He had two goals and assists. He’s scoring at will right now. I think in their four wins, he’s been a giant difference-maker.

It was hard for me to decide between him and Stamkos because they both are pushing the pace right now. That’s been a big factor when you think about the Nashville Predators. We’re in this situation because of their stars. Their stars have come to play. For Forsberg, the way that the Olympics went, sitting on the bench for the majority of those early games…I think [that] left a bitter taste in his mouth because he knows he can be a difference-maker. So, kudos to him and the Preds for getting in. I’m biased because we got a Preds jersey behind me here. Let’s go, Preds.
