Kings sign Martin Chromiak to one-year contract

The Los Angeles Kings are keeping an ascending player in their organization.
On Thursday, the Kings signed forward Martin Chromiak to a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $850,000.
Chromiak, 23, is coming off his the best season of his career, as he put up 28 goals and 28 assists for 56 points in 71 games for the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate Ontario Reign. He then contributed a goal and no assists in the Reign’s five postseason games.
The Slovakian national just had a strong showing at the 2026 IIHF World Championship, as he notched four goals and two assists for six points in seven games for his home country.
Los Angeles selected Chromiak in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, after he had a brief 28-game stint with the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs where he impressed with 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points.
Chromiak spent the majority of his 2020-21 season with Trencin Dukla of the Slovak Extraliga, the top professional hockey league in Slovakia, where he had 19 points in 32 games. He also went pointless in two games for the Reign that season.
He returned to the Frontenacs for the 2021-22 season, where he finished tied for 12th in the OHL in scoring with 44 goals and 42 assists for 86 points in 60 games.
Chromiak has spent the last four seasons with the Reign, gradually improving his production each year. He went from 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in the 2022-23 season, to 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in thw 2023-24 season, to 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in the 2024-25 season, to finally his 56-point campaign this past season.
The Kings are hoping Chromiak continues to progress and can contribute at the NHL level next season.
