Erik Karlsson Listed as Game-Time Decision

Something is up with Erik Karlsson. Prior to playing the New York Rangers on Thursday night, the Ottawa Senators defenseman took a maintenance day. And despite playing over 22 minutes, the Norris Trophy candidate took a few hard hits from Rangers forward John Scott.

According to CBC’s Cassie Campbell, via Twitter, Karlsson is listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game. At this point we have no idea the extent of his injury or even what is ailing him. However, we do know that the Sens should air on the side of caution with their budding star.

We should know by warm-ups whether Karlsson can play tonight. If he can’t go, look for Matt Carkner to draw back into the lineup.
