DraftKings Fantasy Hockey Quick Sheet: April 29th

The second round continues tonight with two games—we have the Stars vs. the Blues and the Sharks vs. Predators. Let’s Go!

Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

• Goal = +3 PTS
• Assist = +2 PTS
• Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
• Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
• Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
• Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
• Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

• Win = +3 PTS
• Save = +0.2 PTS
• Goal Against = -1 PTS
• Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

• Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
• The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight

Line Stacks

Tomas Hertl ($5,100) – Joe Thornton ($5,800) – Joe Pavelski ($7,800)

The Sharks’ top-line along with Brent Burns dominated the Kings in round one, with Pavelski potting five goals in five games. This line also had a lot of success against the Predators during the regular season, combing for four goals and six assists (10 points) in the three meetings this year. Pavelski is one of the top wing options available tonight and Thornton and Hertl both come in with very reasonable price tags—Thornton had three points (1G / 2A) vs. Los Angeles while Hertl had two (1G / 1A).

Jaden Schwartz ($5,200) – Jori Lehtera ($4,000) – Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,900)

The Blues’ top line was a force to be reckoned with against Chicago in round one and they face a much softer defensive team in Dallas in round two. They were able to combine for 17 points (8G / 9A) in seven games against the Blackhawks and the Stars’ goaltending duo of Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi is not nearly as strong as Corey Crawford. This line should be able to feast on Dallas, starting in Game 1 tonight.

Defensemen

Brent Burns – vs. NSH – $8,500

Burns tremendous regular season carried into the post season, picking up a ridiculous eight points (2G / 6A) in five games vs. the Kings. He averaged 3.8 shots per game and 1.8 blocks per game, maintaining his stable floor even if he doesn’t pick up points (which is rare).

Alex Pietrangelo – @ DAL – $6,000

Pietrangelo is tied for second in the NHL with 3.6 blocked shots per game in the playoffs and has added six points (1G / 5A) to go along with it. All of that equates to an impressive 4.57 DraftKings points per game in the postseason and he should be able to maintain that with a much easier matchup in round two.

Paul Martin – vs. NSH – $2,800

Martin is right behind Pietrangelo, with 3.4 blocked shots per game, but doesn’t posses the same offensive talent or numbers. He had just one assist in the first round, but also averaged one shot per game. Combine that with blocked shots and the large minutes he plays beside Burns, Martin is a decent money-saving option at $2,800.

Goalies

Brian Elliott – @ DAL – $8,500

Elliott posted an impressive 2.40 GAA, .929 SV% and one shutout in seven games against  tough Blackhawks team in round one. In round two he faces another offensive juggernaut, who he was 1-1-0 with a 1.49 GAA and .945 SV% against in the regular season. The Blues are battle tested already, they should come out flying in Game 1 after finally getting that Round 1 monkey off of their back.

Martin Jones – vs. NSH – $7,800

Jones was great in the first round, posting a 2.18 GAA and .912 SV% to beat his former team in five games. Now, the Sharks find themselves against a tough Predators team, who Jones was 0-2-0 with a 3.57 GAA and .868 SV% against this regular season. Obviously not ideal numbers, but the Predators will likely be fatigued after finishing a seven-game series off just two days ago.
