Stars sign Matthew Seminoff, Harrison Scott to two-year, two-way contract extensions

The Dallas Stars have made a pair of signings to maintain their organizational depth up front.
On Thursday, the team announced that they have agreed to two-year, two-way contract extensions with forwards Matthew Seminoff and Harrison Scott.
Seminoff, 22, played the 2025-26 campaign entirely for Dallas’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Texas Stars, where he had his best professional season to date, putting up 24 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 72 games. He then contributed a goal and three assists for four points in five playoff games.
The Leesburg, Virginia native was initially selected by the Stars in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. After completing his junior career with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), including his final season in 2022-23 in which he notched 31 goals and 51 assists for 82 points in 62 games, Seminoff made his professional debut for Texas in the 2023-24 season. That year, he managed just four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 70 games. In the 2024-25 season, he had two goals and seven assists for nine points in 56 games for Texas, while also having five points in a brief five-game stint for the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.
Scott, 25, had 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points in 72 games for Texas this past season.
The San Jose, California native went undrafted by the NHL, and signed a one-year, entry-level deal with the Stars in March of 2025. He finished up the 2024-25 season with Texas, going pointless in six regular season games and registering a goal and no assists in 14 postseason games.
Scott joined Stars after a four-year collegiate career, including his senior season with the University of Maine in which he led the team in scoring with 18 goals and 17 points for 35 points in 38 games.
