Stars promote Rich Peverley to assistant GM

The Dallas Stars announced Friday that Rich Peverley has been promoted to assistant general manager and player personnel.

Peverley is in his ninth season with the Stars, having previously served as the director of player personnel.
“Rich’s promotion speaks to his impact on our organization and his hard work behind the scenes identifying, developing and working alongside our players,” Stars Jim Nill said in a statement. “He has been able to use his vast experience and knowledge from his NHL career to become an invaluable part of our hockey operations team over the last decade.”
According to the team statement, Peverley will work with assistant general manager and Texas Stars GM Scott White, as well as assistant general manager Mark Janko, in regards to team personnel.
Peverley spent nine seasons as a player, finishing with 84 goals and 157 assists for 241 points in 442 regular-season games with the Stars, Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins and Atlanta Thrashers. He also recorded nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 59 playoff games, and helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in 2011. He was also part of the group that made it to the Stanley Cup Final against the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.
Going into Friday night, the Stars are 43-18-11 with 97 points through 72 games, second in the Central Division, Western Conference and the league standings.
Jason Robertson leads the team points with 85, Wyatt Johnston has a team-leading 40 goals while Miro Heiskanen has 50 assists. In net, Jake Oettinger leads the way with a 29-11-6 record and a .901 save percentage.
