DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (October 31st)

The Corsica Hockey bet predictions once again went 1-1 on the Highest Value and Highest Probability bets last night, bringing this post to 16-7 (69.6%) on the season. The Islanders and Penguins broke out for _ goals, crushing the Over/Under of 6.5, but the Flames covered their +1.5 spread with an overtime win in Buffalo.
Tonight is a rare night in the NHL with just one game on the schedule. I’ve highlighted the “Highest Value” and “Highest Probability” bets of the nice according to Corsica’s bet predictions. To see all of the predictions, visit the BETS section.

Highest Value
Blackhawks @ Canucks — Spread | CHI -1.5 (+235)

With only one game on the slate, the betting options are obviously limited. Corsica likes the Blackhawks to cover their -1.5 spread, which is a good bet because the Canucks are extremely banged up. They recently got Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser back, but will be without Alex Edler, Chris Tanev, Sven Baertschi and Brandon Sutter. On the other hand, the Blackhawks come in almost 100 percent healthy. Patrick Kane and Marcus Kruger are both listed as game-time decisions, but each of them are expected to play.
The loss of Sutter really affects the Canucks lineup, because head coach Travis Green used him as their shutdown centre. Bo Horvat will take over those duties for at least the next month. Brendan Gaunce has been recalled and will skate in Sutter’s spot, which is obviously a big downgrade. According to our 5v5 Advantages Premium post, the Blackhawks have the advantage across the board.
Highest Probability
Blackhawks @ Canucks — Moneyline | CHI -127

If Corsica likes the Blackhawks to win by two or more goals, there’s no reason not to like them on the Moneyline, where they are -127 favourites. The Blackhawks have the 5v5 advantage, but Vancouver could have an edge in special teams. Vancouver has the 18th ranked power-play (18.9%) and eighth-best penalty kill (84.6%). For Chicago, they surprisingly have the worst power-play in the league despite having an abundance of talent. Their PK isn’t much better, killing off 75.7 percent of their penalties (21st).
