Daily Fantasy Stacking: 03-05-18

Tonight’s five-game slate offers a number of quality high-priced options. I’ve highlighted my top choices below as well as an extreme-value pick.
High-Priced
Milan Lucic ($5,200)-Connor McDavid ($8,100)-Leon Draisaitl ($6,700)
After a two-point performance against the Rangers on Sunday, McDavid is now up to 34 points in 26 games since the turn of the calendar year. He’s once again the safest bet on the slate thanks to a fantastic matchup with the Coyotes.
McDavid and Draisaitl have been as productive as any duo in the league at 5v5 this season, registering a 56.19 SCF% and averaging over 40 scoring chances per 60 minutes. Though he’s played just 69 minutes at 5v5 with the two of them, Lucic has proved to be a valuable contributor to Edmonton 1 in his own right, raising the line’s rate of scoring chances to an astonishing 51 per 60.
There is no reason to expect this line to slow down at all tonight. They should see a healthy mix of Arziona’s top two lines. Obviously, both are heavily outclassed by Edmonton’s top line, but Arizona 2 seems especially exploitable given their poor defensive numbers on the year (39 shots against per 60). If you can find a way to fit him in, Oscar Klefbom ($5,700) is the obvious choice to fill out this stack.
Jamie Benn ($6,800)-Tyler Seguin ($7,500)-Brett Ritchie ($3,000)
Normally one of the highest-priced stacks on any given slate, Dallas’ top line has been afforded some value tonight thanks to Ritchie swapping places with Alexander Radulov. Ritchie hasn’t skipped a beat in his limited time with Benn and Seguin. The three of them are averaging 44 scoring chances per 60 and have posted a 67.19 CF% at 5v5 together this season. Ritchie is also currently the net presence on the Stars’ top powerplay unit, making him a prime punt candidate in GPPs tonight even if you don’t opt for the Dallas 1 stack.
As far as their matchup is concerned, expect head coach Ken Hitchcock to use the last change to match his third line against the Bobby Ryan, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Mark Stone line for Ottawa. That should free up his top line to attack the depth of the Senators who have posted some horrid defensive numbers at 5v5 this season. I suggest you take full advantage of this stack’s value tonight by adding John Klingberg ($6,000) to your lineup.
Value Stack
Daniel Sedin ($4,400)-Henrik Sedin ($3,600)-Jussi Jokinen ($2,700)
The Sedins have quietly put together a productive season, with each of them having already topped the 40-point mark. They have been especially strong of late, combining for 14 points in their last five games. The price on this stack is remarkably low given their opponent tonight, the New York Islanders, have given up more goals than any other team in the league.
The twins are expected to draw the short straw tonight and will have to matchup against the dynamic trio of Anthony Beauvillier, Mathew Barzal, and Jordan Eberle. Their even strength numbers suggest it should be a fairly even matchup, but it should be noted the Islanders second line surrenders shots and scoring chances at a far more frequent rate than the Sedins.
Jussi Jokinen is obviously a risk given his inconsistent role with the Canucks, and at a combined-price of just $8,000 on DraftKings tonight the Sedins make for an excellent mini-stack without Jokinen. However, finding a forward on a competent line that’s priced as low as Jokinen is tonight is extremely rare, so keep that in mind if you’re spending a lot of money elsewhere in your lineup. Alexander Edler ($5,600) is the only sensible option to add to this stack.
