Daily Fantasy Notebook (11/02)

Whether you spend your entire day at work or school, it can be difficult to stay on top of all NHL news. That’s why I have created the Daily Fantasy Notebook, so you can catch up on everything you might have missed throughout the day.

The notebook will be released everyday after teams wrap up their morning skate. It will include a number of things: Injury updates, prominent line changes, goalie rankings and DFS value picks.

While this is obviously more geared towards daily fantasy hockey, it can be just as useful for season-long players as well. Injuries i

e obviously key, but important line changes could be viewed as as potential waiver wire pickups and the goalie rankings can help you make the tough starting goalie decisions you face on large slates.

Key Injuries

– David Backes (illness) is on IR.
– David Krejci (back) is out.
– Adam Pelech (undisclosed) is out.
– Frans Nielsen (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision.
– Kyle Turris (illness) will play.
– Jared McCann (lower-body) is out.
– Cam Atkinson (lower-body) is out.
– Radko Gudas (upper-body) is questionable.
– Brett Ritchie (upper-body) is out.
– Martin Hanzal (lower-body) is out.
– Andrew Shaw (illness) will play.
– Jaromir Jagr (lower-body) is out.
– Brett Pesce (concussion) is out.
– Antti Raanta (lower-body) returns to the Coyotes crease.

Line Changes

Boston Bruins (vs. VGK)

– With Backes out, Jordan Szwarz has been recalled and will centre the second line with Danton Heinen and Anders Bjork on his wings.
– David Pastrnak back on the top line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron
– Matt Beleskey will draw back into the lineup; Kenny Agostino out (in the AHL).

Vegas Golden Knights (@ BOS)

– Forwards are expected to remain the same.
– D-Pairs are unclear; Schmidt-Sbisa | Miller-Hunt | Theodore-Merrill | McNabb-Engelland skated this morning, one of those pairs will sit.

Washington Capitals (vs. NYI)

– Nathan Walker in (on 4th line); Anthony Peluso out.
– Taylor Chorney in; Aaron Ness out.

New York Islanders (@ WSH)

– Pelech (undisclosed) will not play; Thomas Hickey in.

Ottawa Senators (vs. DET)

– Turris (illness) back in; centres second line with Zack Smith and Ryan Dzingel
– Tom Pyatt on top-line with Derick Brassard and Mark Stone
– Mike Hoffman-JG Pageau-Chris Didomenico
– Mark Borowiecki out.

Detroit Red Wings (@ OTT)

– No changes expected, but Nielsen is a game-time decision so that could change the lineup.

Tampa Bay Lightning (vs. NYR)

– No changes from Monday’s win.

New York Rangers (@ TBL)

– Nick Holden is expected to draw into the lineup for Brendan Smith (healthy scratch)

Florida Panthers (vs. CBJ)

– Alex Petrovic in; MacKenzie Weegar out.

Columbus Blue Jackets (@ FLA)

– Sonny Milano and Zac Dalpe in (on 4th line)
– Scott Harrington (was 7th D-man) and Atkinson (lower-body) out.

St. Louis Blues (vs. PHI)

– No changes expected.  

Philadelphia Flyers (@ STL)

– No morning skate; but Gudas was hurt last night and could be replaced by Will O’Neill.

Winnipeg Jets (vs. DAL)

– No changes expected.

– Ritchie will not play, so Jason Dickinson will draw into the lineup.
– Had an optional morning skate, so no word on lines.

Minnesota Wild (vs. MTL)

– Justin Williams moves to the second line with Victor Rask and Teuvo Teravainen.
– Josh Jooris moves to the third line with Derek Ryan and Jeff Skinner.
– Brock McGinn gets a demotion to the fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Joakim Nordstrom.
– With Pesce out; Trevor van Riemsdyk moves to the top-pair with Jaccob Slavin.
– Klas Dahlbeck draws in on the third pair with Noah Hanifin.

– Fantenberg is expected to replace Christian Folin on the blueline.

Toronto Maple Leafs (@ LAK)

– Kasperi Kapanen will replace Josh Leivo and play with Nazem Kadri and Leo Komarov.
– Roman Polak will return to the blueline; replacing Connor Carrick.
