Fleet’s Daniela Pejsova out Saturday against Goldeneyes with upper-body injury

The Boston Fleet will be without one of their defenders for Saturday’s PWHL Takeover Tour game against the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
Sources tell Daily Faceoff PWHL reporter Tyler Kuehl that Fleet defender Daniela Pejsova will not play Saturday. The report comes soon after Boston announced the team signed defender Mia Biotti to a 10-day contract.

Pejsova has one goal and six hits while averaging 10:57 of ice time with the Fleet this season. Now in her second PWHL season, the 23-year-old blueliner has a goal and three assists for four points in 35 career games. She was taken in the second round of the 2024 PWHL Draft.
Before moving to North America, Pejsova spent six seasons in Sweden, where she scored 28 goals and 40 assists for 68 points in 174 career regular-season games.
Internationally, she won two bronze medals at the World Championship with Czechia in 2022 and 2023.
Biotti is expected to play in the Fleet’s PWHL Takeover Tour game Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit against the Goldeneyes. The Cambridge, Mass., native was invited to Boston’s training camp and has been on the reserve player list since November.

She spent four seasons playing college hockey at Harvard University, where she scored six goals and 32 assists for 38 points in 122 career NCAA games. Her best offensive season came in her freshman year, where she recorded two goals and 13 assists for 15 points.
Internationally, Biotti earned a gold medal with the U.S. at the 2020 IIHF Under-18 World Championship. She recorded one assist in five games.
The signing comes as Boston plays three games over the next nine days, all within the length of Biotti’s 10-day contract. After Saturday’s game, they will travel home to host the Seattle Torrent, then fly to Atlantic Canada for another PWHL Takeover Tour game, facing the Ottawa Charge at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, N.S.
The Fleet are 6-0-1-1 with 19 points, first in the PWHL standings. Defender Megan Keller leads the team in several offensive categories, with five assists and eight points. She is also tied for the team lead in goals with three with forward Abby Newhook.
Goaltender Aerin Frankel leads all PWHL goaltenders with a 5-1-0-1 record, a .963 save percentage (SV%) and 0.99 goals against average (GAA).
