Kings sign Aatu Jamsen to one-year contract extension

The Los Angeles Kings have signed forward Aatu Jamsen to a one-year, two-way contract extension, the club announced Friday afternoon.
Jamsen, 23, collected 16 goals and 28 points in 59 games with the AHL’s Ontario Reign during the 2025-26 regular season. The 6’2″, 175-pound forward added a goal and an assist in four games with the club in the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Per the club release, Jamsen’s new contract with the Kings carries an $850,000 annual cap hit in the NHL. Additionally, PuckPedia reported Friday afternoon that Jamsen will earn a $100,000 salary for the time he spends in the AHL.
The Kings originally selected Jamsen in the seventh round (No. 190 overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. The Lahti, Finland product spent his first four post-draft seasons playing at home with the Lahti Pelicans organization, ultimately advancing into the top-level Liiga in 2021-22.
Jamsen spent parts of three seasons in the Liiga before coming to North America, racking up 29 goals and 63 points in 113 games; he added five goals and 10 points in 29 playoff contests with the club. The Kings signed Jamsen to a two-year, entry-level contract after he scored 14 goals and 25 points in 36 games with the 2023-24 Pelicans.
Although he has yet to appear in an NHL game with the Kings to date, Jamsen has skated in 95 AHL games with Ontario over the past two seasons, collecting 23 goals and 39 points. He had been slated to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights upon the conclusion of his entry-level deal this July.
With Jamsen now signed, the Kings now have only three pending RFAs left to deal with this summer: Brandt Clarke, Martin Chromiak, and Francesco Pinelli. Additionally, they have 11 pending UFAs, most notably forwards Scott Laughton, Jeff Malott, and Andrei Kuzmenko.
