Nine first-round NHL picks highlight USA’s 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase team
USA Hockey has announced a 47-player roster for the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase, set to place July 26-Aug. 1 at WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario.
The team features nine first-round NHL Draft picks, led by recent selections Chase Reid (Seattle Kraken) and Wyatt Cullen (Nashville Predators). A total of 41 players have been drafted, with potential 2027 first-rounders Jamie Glance and Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll among those looking to make an impact.
USA will split into two teams, blue and white, to start the 10-game slate. They’ll then run just one team for the final few games against Canada and Sweden.
The World Junior Summer Showcase doesn’t hand out medals, but is used as an opportunity for the four competing nations – USA, Canada, Sweden and Finland – to get an early look at their potential lineups for December. The event was previously held at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, but has been moved up north under Hockey Canada’s control for this summer.
The Americans won gold in 2024 and 2025, but failed to snag a medal in Minnesota this past January. The main event will be held in Edmonton and Red Deer this winter, with the Americans hoping to get back into podium contention.
